A: We have various makes of cars ranging from Peugeot 206, 307, Ford Focus, Yaris, Renault Clio, Peugeot 307 convertible. All our cars are fitted with air conditioning, anti lock braking system and powered steering, all the mod cons you would expect from a new car. Most of our cars are less than a year old, contributing to an all round better driving experience. We have a different array of cars because we have found pupils prefer a choice, also some pupils like to learn in a car they intend to get after they pass their Practical Driving Test.Q: Can I have more than one lesson a week?

A: At Access Driving Tuition we do what is referred to as a Semi-Intensive Driving Course. This is where the pupil has an Assessment Driving Lessonss to see how many Driving Lessonss would be required to reach test standard, and providing the Theory Test has been passed by the pupil we can book the Driving Test then the pupil puts in the Driving Lessonss running up to the test. Because there is usually a waiting time from booking the test to taking the Driving Test, probably 3/4 weeks, Semi-Intensives are a little less demanding than a full blown Intensive. You can also take advantage of the block booking discount if doing a Semi-Intensive. If a Semi-Intensive is the route you want to go then you need to book an Assessment Driving Lesson. If you still want the full blown Intensive Driving Course over a 3 / 5 or 10 day period, which are ideal if you just want to get it done and out the way, then please visit our sister Website by clicking on the Link Access Direct (Leicestershire's No 1 Intensive Course Specialists). A: Yes, this is not a problem.Q: Are the Instructors friendly and patient?
A: Yes, it is one of the main qualities we look for and insist upon before recruiting a new Driving Instructor. We not only want You to learn to Drive quickly and safely, we want You to enjoy Your Driving Lessonss.Q: Do your Driving Instructors smoke?
A: The simple answer is no. As I am sure You are aware it is now illegal to smoke in ones work place, i.e. no Driving Instructor is allowed to smoke in their school car. Whether Instructing a pupil or not Access Diving Tuition has long had a no smoking policy prior to the ban.Q: Do you offer a guaranteed pass?
A: I know some Driving Lessonss offer this, but basically No I can't guarantee your going to pass your Driving Test, because anything can happen on the day of Your Driving Test, nerves can be a factor and no matter how good we train You ultimately its down to you. To guarantee some one will pass their test opens up the system to abuse, some Driving Lessonss may inflate their Driving lesson price's to higher than normal to cover the cost of a retest in case you fail, some may give you more Schools than you need to make sure you pass, at your expense. Personally Access Driving Tuition prefers to give you the right amount of Driving Lessonss to do the Job at right price.Q: How many Driving Lessonss will I need?
A: I am asked this question more than any other and it is always the hardest one to answer. How many Driving Lessonss you will need depends on many factors, your experience, age, working back ground, even your attitude. I have known people only take 8 Driving Lessonss and then some people take 80 Driving Lessonss. The Driving Standards Agency which is the governing body which conducts the Driving Test say it is about 45 hours for a new Driver, but as I said there are a lot of factors which will reduce this. At Access Driving Tuition we will try to get you to reach Driving Test standard in the minimum amount of safe Driving Lessonss, this not only reduce's your tuition cost, but it improves Access Driving Tuition's Reputation.Q: Do you do trailer towing Schools / tuition?
A: Yes we do, please call for details.
Thank You I hope we have answered most of your questions, if not please do not hesitate to contact us.
Access Driving Instructor Training
Access Driving Instructor Training is one of the most premier independently owned Driving Instructor Training establishments in the Country.
Why Train to be a Driving Instructor?
Job satisfaction
I would rate this as one of the highest reasons, but one you only truly discover when you have become a Trained Driving Instructor. To know you have been a key figure in Training someone to pass their Driving Test and to actually be there when they pass, almost makes it worth while in Training to be a Driving Instructor in it's self.
You work the hours You Want
Obviously within reason, this is a supply and demand industry, but generally
being a Driving Instructor allows a great deal of flexibility in the hours you work. You might choose to work around family or social commitments or even work part time – the choice is yours! It's nice just to be able to take an afternoon off to go to your child's school play.Previous experience, qualifications not required
This is one of the few industry's that do not require formal qualifications. However the DSA (Driving Standards Agency) requires that anyone wishing to Train as a Driving Instructor has no more than 6 penalty points on their licence, have held a valid full UK licence for at least 3.5 years and meet the physical criteria required to safely control a vehicle.
You will need though, good people skills, a competent driving ability, the commitment to Train hard to become a Driving Instructor, also a good communication manner, sense of humor is a must and finally sometimes the patients of a Saint.
Earnings potential
Once you have Trained to be a Driving Instructor your potential earnings are down to you. The amount of hours you are willing to Train pupils, the price you charge for your Driving Lessonss etc. Do your sums carefully do not believe all the hype you see advertised and most of all remember there are expenses once you have Trained to be a Driving Instructor, do not forget to take these out of your calculations.
Some Instructors say, if your a good Driving Instructor you will make a good wage, if your a poor Driving Instructor you will make a poor wage.
So I guess the question You need to ask your self is which one do I want to be?So who are we !
Access is a family run firm that has been trading successfully for 15 years in the Leaner market and the Driving Instructor Training Industry. We have excelled in both fields. If you want an assessment please call us, but It is your attitude, communication skills and approach that matters most.
Overview
Our training is designed to merge with the Driving Standards Agency's three-part exam. It makes common sense to me to complete and pass each exam in turn before moving on to the training for the next one. Please let me explain this a little more. You have to take the 3 exams in turn. The exam waiting times vary, but don't quote me on this. Exam 1 you could book a date quite quickly, say 2/3 weeks, exam 2 on average about 8 weeks, exam 3 this is the biggy could be any where from a week to 12 weeks. Don't believe me? call the Driving Standards Agency and ask them when their earlist test date for a part 3 is. Anyway my point is your success rate will increase ten fold if you spread Your training out. Why do all 3 parts of Your training in 2 weeks before You have even taken an Exam. Surely it makes more sense to train leading up to each exam, or maybe I'm old fashioned.
You can take the Part 1 test as many times as you need to, or as many times you want to chuck £60.00 odd at it. Although most people do pass first time. You do not need to be in a class room, we have used a home study course successfully for years. If you need a class room or a teacher for part 1, well maybe this is not for you. Once You pass Part 1 the clock starts ticking, you have 2 years from this point to pass the final 2 exams. Plenty of time ( you think ). You can have up to three attempts at passing Parts 2 and 3 and then your out. In the unlikely event you did fail parts 2 or 3 three times you would have to wait 2 years from when you passed your part 1 to start again.
Your Trainer will advise you when you are ready for the exam thus giving you the best chance of passing. We'll do all we can to make sure you pass!
....................................................
Part One / Theory Exam
Takes place at a Driving Standards Agency examination centre, usually in a major town or city, and consists of 100 multiple choice questions on subjects including:
1. Road procedure.
2. Car control.
3. Basic mechanical knowledge.
4. Highway Code.
5. Instruction techniques. The Exam is computer based, a very similar set up to the theory test learners have to do, obliviously more and harder questions, saying that though most of the questions if you have been driving for a while are common sense. You will need to study though for the ones that are not.
The subjects are arranged into four bands, each with an 80% pass mark. The overall pass mark for Part 1 is 85%.
You are given 1 1/4 hours to complete the test but most people finish early. Best of all nearly all our students pass first time! I have never known anyone training with us ultimately not to pass this. The harsh truth is though if you couldn't pass this, you would have had no chance at part 3 anyway.
The easiest of all 3 test.
Part 2 / Driving ability Exam
You get in-car training to totally fit in with your requirements, on average 10 to 15 hours is more than adequate to bring a candidates driving up to standard. Mock test scenario, plus final test preparation. In between the in-car training, you Must practice and adopt Part 2 style as your normal way of driving. If you don't You will Fail.
A Driving Standards Agency Supervising Examiner conducts the driving and eyesight test. The test is approximately an hour long. You are expected to drive in a business-like, disciplined manner along a varied route showing your ability to manoeuvre and control the car safely.
There is no comparison between this test and Your original learner test, apart from they are both in a car. The maximum minor faults you are allowed to make is 6. This is an advanced driving test and needs the commitment it deserves. The good news is with Access Instructor Training 90% of our Trainees pass 1st time 4% 2nd 1% 3rd no one as ever struck out on this Exam with us. Now that's impressive, over a 15 year period.
Again if Your still apprehensive about your driving, give us a call we will give you a free assessment as long as you travel to us.
Part 3 / The teaching Exam.
In preparation for the final test, Part 3 is where we teach you how to teach others, and again we give you as much support and help with the course work as we can to maximize your chances of success. The prior Instructor Training you have received and the Exams you have passed were mere stepping stones to this final phase.
In-car training, this includes extensive role-play by your trainer to prepare you for the many scenarios the examiner could play. You will receive in-car training to totally fit in with your requirements, on average 30 to 40 hours is adequate to bring a candidates knowledge up to part three standard. I have taught Trainee Driving Instructors in a lot less time than this and also a lot more time than this. It really depends on Your communication skills.
The Finish Line
Takes place in-car and is approximately one hour long, split into two stages and consists of two role playing exercises. Your examiner will paint a word picture for you, describing what kind of pupil he or she will be playing, for example what experience he or she has. You then teach the examiner whilst in the car. This test is designed to mirror a real life driving lesson. This is the most demanding part of the overall exam procedure
Spending more than a couple of hours in a class room Instructor Training for this exam is a waste of time. Your training needs to be 99 % in car on a one to one ratio.
The examiner will give you a brief before hand, selecting any of the following subjects of instruction.
Phase 1 Beginner Partly Trained Phase 2 Trained 1. Controls. Crossroads. 2. Moving off / Stopping. Meet cross overtake. 3 Turn in the road. Turning left or right. 4 Reversing. Emerging. 5 Emergency stop. Progress / Hesitancy. 6 Pedestrian crossings. Reverse parking. 7 Turning left or right corners. Pedestrian crossing. 8 Emerging. Meet cross overtake. 9 Crossroads. Pedestrians crossing 10 Meet cross overtake. Progress / Hesitancy.
When you pass, you become a fully Qualified Driving Instructor. In 15 years I could name the Trainees that have failed with us, unfortunately it was all for the same reasons. They did not maintain their training.
If you would like an assessment please call us, I can't guarantee it will be free, but it could save you a lot of money in the long term.

Ok the painful Part.

Part 1 £150.00 Complete home study course with full tutor back up.

The course aims to build upon your newly acquired Driving skills and knowledge.

Passing Your Practical Driving Test
Ok, Your Practical Driving Test. This is what You've possibly been planning for and training towards for some time. We know Your going to be nervous about taking Your Practical Driving Test and we know what it means to You. We know it's not just about being able to drive a car. It's about independence, not having to keep having to ask for lifts every where ,relying on other people to take You place's and no more catching that bus. It's about freedom, being able to go where You want, when You want. It's about You having control over Your Life.
At Access Driving Tuition our Driving Instructors appreciate this. Thats why over the period of time You have been taking Schools with Access Driving Tuition our aim will have been working towards this point of getting You through Your Driving Test.
What do You need to do, to Pass Your Test
You must drive in a confident manner. To pass your driving test you need to drive without making any serious or dangerous faults and no more than 15 minor faults during a drive of about 40 minutes. The examiner will require you to undertake two of the following manoeuvres and optionally the emergency stop:
Reverse parking behind a parked car or into a parking bay.
Reversing round a corner to either the left or right.
Turn in the road.
During the test the examiner will tell you in good time which way to go. If you go the wrong way do not panic, the examiner is testing your ability to drive not your ability to follow directions. It is better to go the wrong way correctly than to go the right way incorrectly. If at any time you are unsure what the examiner requires, do not hesitate to check what he or she wants; the examiner appreciates that you may be nervous and will be happy to repeat or clarify any instructions given.
Try not to turn the Exaimer in to a mystical monster ( not a bad one anyway) he is not there to fail You, but to assess if You can drive competently.
Some Tips to Passing Your Driving Test
- Practice manoeuvres until you can carry them out without any minor faults. That will leave you with a margin of 15 faults for the rest of the drive on the day of your test.
- Practice, practice and practice until you can drive without verbal or physical intervention from your Driving instructor for the duration of a full Driving lesson.
- Arrive at the test centre in plenty of time and try to relax. If you have trained with Access Driving Tuition you will already be to a good standard so have confidence in yourself.
- Arrange to have an hour's Driving lesson around the area of the test centre on the day of your test. This will help you to warm up and get into the swing of things.
- Think confident: Talk yourself (silently) through the test. Talk about hazards coming up and how you are going to deal with them. This really focuses your mind on how you should be driving in order to pass the test.
- Don't be afraid to ask: If you don't understand what the examiner has asked you to do, don't be afraid to ask him or her to repeat the instruction.
- Stalling: if, unfortunately, you stall, deal with it and move on. As long as you don't stall in a dangerous situation, and as long as you handle it properly, this needn't count as a major fault and you can still pass your test.
- Have I already failed? If you feel you've made a mistake, don't instantly assume you've failed .
- Keep your eyes on the road: Resist the temptation to look at the examiner and what he or she is writing. You will not be able to deduce anything anyway. Keep your attention on your driving and the road ahead!

About the Driving Theory Test
There are two parts of the Driving Theory Test, the multipule choice question part and the Hazard Perception part
Before the test starts you'll be given instructions on how the test works.
You can also choose to go through a practice session of the multiple choice questions to get used to the layout of the test. At the end of the practice session the real test will begin.
Please try not to worry about understanding what to do, the staff at the test centres are very helpful and will explain everything clearly.
Part one
Multiple choice
The multiple choice question part consists of 50 questions. Associated with each question is a list of potential answers. You need to select the correct answer or answers, by touching the appropriate area of the computer screen.( Please see image below).
You can navigate between questions and 'flag' questions that you want to come back to later in the test. You will be given 57 minutes to complete the test. The pass mark is 43 out of 50. After the multiple choice part you can choose to have a break of up to three minutes before the Hazard Perception part starts.

Part two
Hazard Perception
After the break you'll then be shown a short tutorial video clip about how the Hazard Perception part works. The Hazard Perception part is also delivered on a computer but you respond by clicking a button on the mouse. You'll be presented with a series of 14 video clips which feature every day road scenes. In each clip there'll be at least one developing hazard, but one of the clips will feature two developing hazards. To achieve a high score you'll need to respond to the developing hazard during the early part of its development. The maximum you can score on each hazard is five. You won't be able to review your answers to the Hazard Perception test; as on the road, you'll only have one chance to respond to the developing hazard.
Pass mark for the car Hazard Perception part of the theory test is 44 out of 75.
When you have finished the test you may leave the examination room. Once you have left the room, you'll not be allowed to enter it again. Not that you would want to.You will then be given your result by the test centre staff.
If you study and prepare for the test You should be ok, if you need any help or advice please call us we will be happy to help.
Remember to take with You
You'll be expected to show both parts of your valid driving licence (the photocard and the paper counterpart) at the test centre. If you have an old-style licence without a photo you must also bring a valid passport. If you do not show the required documents they will not let you take the test and you'll lose your fee.
